Stroryline: Three childhood friends namely Raj Khanna, Tina Kapoor, and Pooja Sahani live in beautiful Simla, India together with their respective families. One day Raj’s dad decides to relocate to Great Britain with his wife. Raj wants to stay in touch with Tina, but Tina has her mind somewhere else but reluctantly agrees. When Raj starts corresponding, initially by snail mail, and then subsequently by electronic mail, Tina asks Pooja to respond; and Pooja does so. Fifteen years go by, and Raj decides to come to Simla for a visit and see how Tina has turned out to be. He is already in love with Tina without even seeing her. When he arrives, he instantly falls for Tina, and eventually proposes marriage to her, which she accepts. Their parents rejoice, and both Tina and Raj get engaged. Raj returns to Great Britain. Pooja too goes there, and both meet. Raj eventually realizes that he had been corresponding with Pooja, and he realizes that Pooja is his true love. Pooja also confesses her true feelings for Raj. Both decide to return to Simla and tell Tina and her family this news. Unfortunately, when they return to Simla, circumstances force them to keep their silence, and Raj stays engaged to Tina, but encourages a heart-broken Pooja to find another life-partner.

Stroryline: Lakhan Singh aka Lucky (Sonu Sood) is the ‘king’ of the Australian underworld accompanied by his associates (played by Javed Jaffrey, Neha Dhupia, Manoj Pahwa, Yashpal Sharma, Kamal Chopra and Sudhanshu Pande.) Far away, in a small village in Punjab, where Lucky was born, there exists someone more notorious than him – Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar). The village is fed up of his magnanimity, which has resulted in a number of hilariously disastrous situations. Out of desperation, they decide to send him on a long trip (that will keep him out of the village for a while!) to bring Lucky back to Punjab, as his despicable deeds were maligning their image in Australia.

Stroryline: Rang de Basanti is a film about awakening. About standing up for ones beliefs. Where the spirit of rebellion transcends time and age. A young idealistic English filmmaker, Sue, arrives in India to make a film on Indian revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and their contemporaries and their fight for freedom from the British Raj. Owing to a lack of funds, she recruits students from Delhi University to act in her docu-drama. She finds DJ, who passed out five years back but still wants to be a part of the University because he doesn’t think there’s too much out there in the real world to look forward to. Karan, the son of Industrialist Rajnath Singhania, who shares an uncomfortable relationship with his father, but continues to live off him, albeit very grudgingly. Aslam, is a middle class Muslim boy, who lives in the by-lanes near Jama Masjid, poet, philosopher and guide to his friends. Sukhi, the group’s baby, innocent, vulnerable and with a weakness for only one thing – girls. Laxman Pandey, the fundamentalist in the group, the only one who still believes that politics can make the world a better place and finally Sonia – the sole girl in the group, tomboy and vivacious spirit, engaged to Ajay – the dashing air pilot.
